With the start of a new year, we often consider a new start with goals and resolutions. This is a good thing. God intends for us to start over from wherever we are in life and make the next period in our lives better. The cycle of night and day gives us a fresh start to do better than yesterday. The seasons of winter, spring, and summer remind us to embrace growth and new opportunities out of cold and dreary times in our lives.
The ordinances of the gospel are designed to help us evaluate where we are and where we are going. Each morning and evening as we kneel to pray, we must account to God for what we are doing and what help we need to move forward. Each Sunday we partake of the sacrament as a gesture and sign that we are remembering how we really want to live, and have done so one more week. If not, the sacrament is a reminder to start again. Every year end, you account to the Lord's anointed regarding your faithfulness in tithing and recommit for the coming year. And finally, every two years is a chance to reevaluate your position in life as you meet with God's representatives to renew your temple recommend.
Forgiveness and repentance are the core principles of your belief as a Christian. Use them liberally as you evaluate who you are and where your current path leads.
Happiness awaits those who are vigilant about the direction they are headed. Take time to evaluate yourself and adjust!
Forgive somebody today! Make some small change in your life today! You can do it!
